Live performance last night at CSU San Marcos with Ed Kornhauser and Joe McNalley. Thanks to Prof. Bob Kostlan for making the concert happen!

Had an amazing weekend playing four concerts in three days with the world famous Hutchins Consort. Irvine, two shows in Encinitas and one in Santa Monica. Included standards arranged for THC (Vivaldi’s “Spring,” Ravel’s “Tzigane” featuring Chris Woods), Lili Boulanger’s remarkable “Un matin de Printemps” for flute and orchestra as well as four original Jimmy’s Schmendrix tunes arranged for the Schmendrix and THC. Big fun. Thanks to all of the members of THC led by Joe McNalley, as well as Lynn Willard, and Barry Wood and Mike French, recording engineers. Future audio posts will be up soon.
Way too much fun playing with Tommy Gannon and Kevin Esposito at Casa de Mañana yesterday in La Jolla. Bring on the Purim gig!

Thanks to my good friend Dr. Neil Choplin and the inimitable Ingrid Croce for the really fun gig last Thursday. Wish every performance was this lovely!
Wave at Vi at La Jolla Village Square
Played a nice gig last week with Tommy Gannon and Joe McNalley at Vi at La Jolla Village. Here’s a short video clip. Hope you like it!
This performance of the traditional Kol Nidre prayer Avinu Malkeinu was taken from our Sept. 22, 2015 “Alternative Kol Nidre Service” at Congregation Beth El in La Jolla, CA. The setting is traditional but the arrangement is anything but traditional. I’m playing the bass flute, the ensemble includes violin, cello, contrabass and keyboards and the vocals are lead by Roberta Winston. I have been honored to be the Musical Director for this service since its inception eight years ago by now, most of the music that we do is my own work. Hope you enjoy this performance. I’m writing grants right now to try and get a commercial recording of this music released on CD. Wish me luck! If there are any angels out there who would like to step up with some funding, please reach out to me.
